Reactivation

Quick Method – Microwave (5–25 g sachets only)

Place the sachet on a microwave-safe plate.
Use medium or medium-high power (500–700 W) only.
Never use high power.
Heat in short intervals of 1.5–2 minutes.

After each interval:
Remove the sachet carefully.
Gently shake it to redistribute the silica gel beads.
Wipe away any condensation from both the sachet and the microwave interior.
Repeat the heating cycle as needed until the desiccant is dry.
Never heat continuously.
Allow the sachet to cool completely before reuse.

Larger sachets (50 g and above) should only be regenerated in a conventional oven. Microwave regeneration is not recommended for larger sachets due to the risk of localized overheating and damage to the sachet material.

Service Life
When properly regenerated, the sachets can typically be reused 5–8 times.
Moisture adsorption performance may gradually decrease after repeated regeneration cycles.
Replace the sachet immediately if the fabric becomes damaged, torn, scorched, or if drying performance is noticeably reduced.  

Marispacks Silica Gel Sachets Reactivation & Reuse Instructions

Marispacks silica gel desiccant sachets can be reactivated and reused after absorbing moisture.

Reactivation removes the adsorbed moisture from the silica gel, helping restore its moisture-control
capacity.

For safe and effective reactivation, always follow the instructions below according to the size of your
sachets.

Important Safety Information

Always remove silica gel sachets from their outer packaging, including Marispacks resealable
pouches, before heating.
Never place the outer plastic or doypack packaging in an oven or microwave.
Inspect each sachet before and after reactivation. Do not use sachets that are torn, damaged,
scorched or leaking.
Do not exceed the recommended temperature, microwave power or heating times.
Sachets may become hot during reactivation. Handle with care and allow them to cool
completely before reuse.


Choose the Correct Reactivation Method

5 g, 10 g and 25 g Sachets
These sachets can be reactivated using either:
Recommended: Conventional Oven Method
Quick Method: Microwave Method


50 g Sachets and Larger
Use the Conventional Oven Method only.
Do not microwave sachets of 50 g or larger.

Option A — Conventional Oven Method

Recommended for all sachet sizes
The conventional oven is the preferred method for controlled and even reactivation.

1. Preheat the oven
Preheat a conventional oven to 100–120°C (212–248°F).

2. Arrange the sachets
Remove the sachets from their outer packaging and place them in a single layer on a clean baking
sheet or oven-safe tray.
Do not stack the sachets.

3. Heat
Place the tray in the oven and heat the sachets for approximately 1–2 hours.
The time required may vary depending on sachet size and the amount of moisture previously absorbed.

4. Check reactivation
For the most reliable verification, weigh a sachet before and after reactivation.
As moisture is removed, the sachet will lose the weight it gained during use. Reactivation is complete
when the sachet has returned close to its original dry weight.

5. Cool before reuse
Carefully remove the sachets from the oven and allow them to cool completely before handling,
storing or returning them to service.

Option B — Microwave Method

Quick method for 5 g, 10 g and 25 g sachets only
Do not use this method for sachets of 50 g or larger.

1. Prepare the sachets
Remove the sachets from their outer packaging and place them on a microwave-safe plate.

2. Select the correct power
Set the microwave to Medium or Medium-High power (500–700 W).
Do not use maximum/high power.

3. Heat in short intervals
Heat the sachets for 1.5–2 minutes at a time.
Never heat continuously for an extended period.

4. Check between intervals
After each heating interval:
Carefully remove the plate.
Turn the sachets over to promote more even heating.
Wipe away any condensation from the sachet surface, plate and microwave interior.
Check the sachets for any signs of overheating or physical damage.

5. Repeat if necessary
Repeat the short heating cycles as required until the absorbed moisture has been removed.
Allow the sachets to cool briefly between cycles if they become excessively hot.

6. Verify
Because Marispacks uses non-indicating silica gel, the beads do not change colour when saturated or
reactivated.
For the most reliable check, compare the sachet's weight with its original dry weight. A reduction back
towards the original dry weight indicates that the absorbed moisture has been removed.
The absence of further condensation during a heating cycle can also be used as a practical secondary
indication that reactivation is nearing completion.

7. Cool completely
Allow the sachets to cool completely before reuse or storage.

After Reactivation

Silica gel begins adsorbing moisture again as soon as it is exposed to ambient air.
Once the reactivated sachets have cooled:
Use them as soon as possible, or
Store them immediately in an airtight container or resealable moisture-barrier pouch until
required.
Avoid leaving reactivated sachets exposed to open air for extended periods.

Reactivation & Service Life

When reactivated correctly, Marispacks silica gel sachets can typically be reused 5–8 times.
Adsorption performance may gradually decrease after repeated reactivation cycles.
Replace the sachet if:
The sachet material is torn, punctured or otherwise damaged.
Silica gel beads are leaking from the sachet.
The sachet shows signs of scorching or heat damage.
The seal has deteriorated.
Moisture-control performance has noticeably decreased.

Important

These instructions apply to Marispacks non-indicating silica gel sachets and the specified sachet
sizes. Reactivation instructions for other desiccant types, packaging materials or products may differ.
Always follow the recommended temperature, microwave power, heating intervals and sachet-size
restrictions stated above.
